New boss Appleton wants Rovers to keep their unbeaten run going.
Michael Appleton wants the players to maintain that feel-good factor and defeat Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
The new Rovers boss has been impressed with the work done by Gary Bowyer, Terry McPhillips and Tony Grant, who have overseen a run of three wins and a draw in the past fortnight, and now as he prepares to take is place in the home dugout at Ewood Park for the first time Appleton wants that upturn in form to continue.
Speaking to Rovers Player, the manager said: "Over the last four games, the lads, Gary, Terry and Tony have done great and there's a little bit of a feel-good factor about the place and you can tell that. We've just got to continue that.
"This league is one of those leagues where you can go through periods of games where you do ever so well and then not so well. I think you've only got to look at the teams at the top, they are the ones who have been more steady throughout the season and they are reaping the rewards for it now.
"So it is important that we get off to a winning start, it makes life a little bit easier. The players are in a good frame of mind and hopefully can take that into the game.
"Charlton are on the back of a good victory against my old club Blackpool so it is going to be a difficult game.
"They'll be cock-a-hoop after their good result, but it is on our home patch and we've got to make Ewood as much as a fortress as we possibly can from now until the end of the season."
