Keep it up

4 January 2013

Bowyer delighted with the backing his side have received in the last two games.

Gary Bowyer has praised the support his side has received in the last two games and has called for more of the same this Saturday.

The caretaker boss takes charge for the third time this weekend when Bristol City are the visitors to Ewood Park in the third round of the FA Cup with Budweiser looking to make it a hat-trick of victories after wins over Barnsley and Nottingham Forest.

Speaking ahead of the game, Bowyer said: "The spirit, the atmosphere and support from the fans in the last two games has been nothing short of magnificent.

"Away at Barnsley they were brilliant and then again at Ewood on New Year's Day when they were tremendous.

"The players have really appreciated that support and really needed it, and they'll need it again on Saturday as well, so if we can get as many there it will be great for us."

Rovers will still be without several senior stars through injury against Bristol City so wholesale changes are unlikely as Bowyer looks to maintain the current good form.

"Ultimately we are trying to get through, the players who have been playing previously want to play and that is what we'll continue to do," added the 41-year-old.

"We've got some momentum going and the players want to keep playing, so that is what we'll try and do.

"If we can get one or two younger ones in the squad that would be great experience for them, but we've got a big squad so we'll be looking to keep that run going."

Friday is the last day that supporters can get their tickets for Saturday's match at a reduced rate with prices starting from £10. Why not book your tickets online at and collect your tickets from the Blackburn End collection point on the day of the game.

Also available on the concourses on Saturday is Thwaites Smooth at just £2 a pint, whilst in Blues Bar it is £2 for Smooth and Guinness, and Kronenburg 1664 is available for just £2.50 a pint. Offers are whilst stocks last.
