Busy week expected

24 January 2013

Michael Appleton is eager to make additions to his squad after the weekend.

With just a week until the January transfer window closes the Rovers boss has admitted that he is keen to strengthen the squad and whilst there are no new arrivals imminent, he is expecting next week to be a busy one.

"We've got our targets and know the people that we are going to be looking to bring in between now and Thursday," said Appleton.

"We are certainly working very hard on it. I'll have conversations with the owners to get the right people in.

"This weekend, with it being an FA Cup tie, means there isn't as mad a rush to get anyone in ahead of the game against Derby.

"We've two important home league games after that, so getting players in either today or tomorrow isn't quite as important as maybe getting them in on Monday."
