An enjoyable week

18 January 2013

Michael Appleton wants to cap his week at the training ground with a win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

The Rovers boss has had a full week of training with his new team and he's very much looking forward to the Ewood Park encounter on Saturday.

Appleton has also hinted that he may spring a surprise when he names his team against the Addicks.

"It has been really enjoyable," said Appleton of his first week with the club.

"We've tinkered with a few little bits and pieces in the team. I want to play to the player's strengths so you might see a couple of changes to how we go about the game and how we approach it and i'm sure that will help the players.

"You get a group of players together, you figure what their strengths and weaknesses are, you try and enable them to show their strengths on the field."

Injuries means that Rovers are still without Adam Henley, Dickson Etuhu, Leon Best, Markus Olsson and David Dunn. Mauro Formica and Fabio Nunes have taken part in training, whilst Joshua King could return after a hamstring strain.

Tickets for Appleton's first game are on open sale and available right until the 3.00pm kick-off. Prices are from just £15 for Adults, £10 for Seniors and £5 Juniors. Book online today at and collect your tickets from the Blackburn End collection point on the day of the game.
