Rovers may have scored three at the weekend, but boss Michael Appleton was just as impressed with the side's defensive duties.
Goals from Colin Kazim-Richards, Scott Dann and Jordan Rhodes saw Rovers sweep aside Derby County at Pride Park to book an enticing fifth round FA Cup tie with Arsenal.
Rovers certainly scored some eye-catching goals, none more so than Scott Dann's stunning strike, but Appleton was pleased with the partnership at the back that has been formed between Dann and Grant Hanley.
"It isn't just their aerial ability in terms of defending balls that are coming into the box, the amount of times they got in front of Sammon and Ward and picked the right time to go and win the ball early was very good," said the Rovers boss after the game.
"They looked very solid together, they've obviously got a good understanding of each other and it is important that we keep them fit.
"The players are all aware that we need to defend from the front, but if they get beyond our midfield players and they ask questions of our back four then hopefully we come up with the right answers.
"As a unit we look reasonably solid which is a good thing from my point of view."
Rovers are back in action this Saturday when Bristol City are the visitors to Ewood Park. Tickets for the game are on open sale priced from £15 for Adults, £10 for Seniors and £5 Juniors. Book online today at www.onerovers.co.uk.
