Make mine a double

26 February 2013

Boss Michael Appleton would love to make it a double over Leicester City this evening.

Rovers defeated the Foxes at Ewood Park back in August, but having seen the game, Appleton knows that they were somewhat fortunate to come away with all three points on that occasion.

Now as the two sides meet once more, the manager would like another win, but this time in more comfortable circumstances.

"It would be nice to beat them once more, but I don't want the game to go the way the game went early on in the season," Appleton told Rovers Player.

"I have seen that video and how we won the game I'm not too sure.

"I'd like to have a little bit more control of this game and for it not to be as one-sided as it was at certain times during that game.

"We'd like to have a little bit more of the ball, more control and hopefully create more opportunities and ultimately want the same result."

The Rovers boss isn't surprised to see Leicester City up there in the top six as he knows their backroom staff very well.

"I worked with Nigel Pearson when I was at West Brom, he's a very very good manager, also his assistant Craig Shakespeare, I worked with him at West Brom too.

"They are good people and they know the division inside out. So I full expect them to finish in the top six."

Tickets for tonight's match will be on sale at the King Power Stadium priced £28 for Adults, £25 for Seniors, £20 Under 22s, £18 Under 18s, £10 Under 12s and £8 Under 8s.
