Enjoy the occasion

16 February 2013

Michael Appleton doesn't believe his side will be overawed when they face Arsenal this afternoon.

After defeating fellow npower Championship opposition Bristol City and Derby County in the previous two rounds, Rovers face one of the toughest tests in the fifth round with a trip to the Emirates Stadium.

But with plenty of experience amongst their ranks, Appleton doesn't believe the occasion will be a problem.

"I've got no worries about our players being overawed, that won't be a problem," said the Rovers boss.

"I'd just like to make sure that we have an influence on the game ourselves, rather than just let them totally influence the game.

"It is magnificent, wonderful stadium. I've been there many times, not just as a coach or assistant manager, but also doing scouting reports.

"It is a real eye opener and I'm sure the players who play or are involved on the day will have a fantastic day.

"We just want to make sure that we are professional enough to do things the right way."

Tickets for the game have now all sold out so why not listen to full match commentary on Rovers Player.

Blues Bar at Ewood Park will be showing the match live on their big screens. Find out more details here.
