Rovers welcome back Danny Murphy and DJ Campbell to the squad for Tuesday night's game against Hull City.
Captain Murphy was rested for Saturday's FA Cup win over Arsenal, whilst DJ Campbell missed out on the cup shock as he was cup-tied.
Those two returning, along with the additions of David Bentley and Karim Rekik means that boss Michael Appleton has real competition for places coming into the home stretch of the season, something the manager is delighted with.
"For me that is ten times better than the lack of options that I felt I had because of the unbalance in the squad," said Appleton. "I'd rather have that tenfold really.
"I think the most important thing is that whoever I do play, whether people get rest or whether I rotate, whatever it may be, the most important thing is the side won't be understrength from what it was the previous game.
"That has been the key, getting a squad together so that whoever you play there are no weaknesses in the side.
"There is going to be a stage where if we don't mix it up a little bit people are going to be blowing up really and with the amount of games that we've got between now and the end of the season, that is not what we want.
"It is my job to keep everyone as fresh as we possibly can."
The Rovers boss reports sore legs but good spirits following Saturday's win at the Emirates, with late checks being given to a handful of players.
"We are in pretty good shape," added the Rovers boss. "Bradley Orr got a dead leg but he got that in the first half on Saturday and seemed to deal with it quite well.
"Everyone else is a little bit sore, I think once the medical staff and the sports science staff have get hold of them we'll be going into the Hull game okay."
