Michael Appleton isn't expected to call on Leon Best for this Saturday's match against Peterborough United.
After scoring for the Reserves on Monday afternoon, the striker could have been set for a place in the squad for this weekend's Ewood Park match, but the Rovers boss has revealed that the former Newcastle man has suffered a minor setback in his recovery.
"If Leon is physically okay and his knee is okay then I'd like to get him involved if I can," said Appleton.
"But every now and again his knee does get a little bit of swelling after certain training sessions, so again it will come down to the player.
"I've had a knee injury myself and some of the staff have had quite bad knee injuries and they're aware of it so it will literally come down to the player as to whether he is comfortable enough to be involved.
"But he has had a couple of reactions to training recently where his knee swelled up a little bit. It is pretty much the norm, but the timing isn't great.
"There are going to be times when he is very sore and he's in a bit of pain so we would maybe have to give him time off the training field and just give him some rehab in the gym."
Tickets for Saturday's game will be on sale up until the 3.00pm kick-off. Prices start from £15 for Adults, £10 Seniors and from just £5 for Juniors.
