A tough place to go

12 February 2013

Michael Appleton knows that his side will have to be at their best if they are to get anything from Brighton this evening.

Rovers go into the game at the AMEX Stadium off the back three wins and three clean sheets since the two sides last met in the league, the 1-1 draw at Ewood Park being the last time Rovers have conceded.

"I'd love to win the game, I'd love to win the three points," said the Rovers boss.

"It is a tough place to go but we have a game plan as to how we can go about it, the areas of the field where we think we can be dangerous.

"Again we'll be positive in what we do and we'll just see if we are lucky enough to take the points."

The match at Ewood three weeks ago saw Appleton pick up his first point as Rovers boss and he believes that the players will have to repeat that same level of commitment tonight if they are to add to their points tally.

"I thought we thwarted them completely," added Appleton. "You only had to speak to their staff after the game, they told us nobody had done what we did on the night to them.

"It will be a tougher game because they got a good result on Saturday, their tails will be up.

"It is a game I'm looking forward to and I'm sure they're the same as both sides go into it off the back of good wins at the weekend."

Full match commentary from the AMEX Stadium will be available on Rovers Player tonight, our broadcast will start at approximately 7.30pm.
