Rovers’ Academy manager Phil Cannon took time out to lend his advice to some budding young footballers from around the world.
Rovers welcomed EduKick Manchester International Football Academy to Ewood Park and shared some expert coaching and an insight into life at a football club.
EduKick Manchester allows youngsters from around the globe to study and receive football coaching on a daily basis. A group from the Academy visited Ewood Park last season, during a trial run of the programme, and it was such a success that another trip was organised for this year.
Throughout October, coaches from Rovers’ Community Trust visited the Edukick Manchester training ground to put the players through their paces, followed by a session in the Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre.
The youngsters were given a tour of Ewood Park before taking part in a Q&A with Phil Cannon, receiving an insight into how the Academy works and what it takes to become a professional footballer.
Mick Brennan, Edukick Manchester Director and Principal, said: “Once again it was a fantastic experience for our players to visit Rovers. They gained valuable experience and saw how a real club works. A massive thank you to everyone who helped out.”
The Edukick Manchester team are always looking for fixtures, so if you have a team, aged 16-18 and would like to arrange a friendly fixture with Edukick Manchester, contact Mick Brennan – firstname.lastname@example.org
