Five members of Rovers’ Under-21 squad were guests of honour at the Community Trust’s latest Education Department Presentation Evening.
David Raya, Tom Paul, Deniz Pero, Will Beasley and Tom Brown all made a special visit to Ewood Park to hand out awards to pupils who had participated in the ‘Pitching In’, ‘Goal’ and ‘Double Club’ programmes.
All children received certificates of participation and match tickets as a reward for 100% attendance on their respective projects.
Additional prizes included Rovers/Premier League goody bags for positive attitude, signed footballs for improvement on targets and signed shirts for outstanding contribution.
Rovers’ Head of Education, Jo Watson, said: “Our Education Department always looks forward to Presentation Evening, as it’s a chance to reward and celebrate with all the young people who progressed through our projects and committed their time to improving their learning and development with us.
“As this was the last presentation that I will be a part of, it was important to go out on a high. The five young players from our Under-21s certainly made that happen!
“They were enthusiastic from start to finish and their enjoyment of the evening really shone through to the kids involved. They proved themselves to be fine ambassadors of the club, as well as terrific role models to our children on the night.
“They have a huge fanbase now in the shape of our project attendees and their families!”
