Eric Kinder was delighted to see 'keeper Paul Robinson back in goal last night.
The 34-year-old stopper made his long-awaited return to action, playing the full match for the Under-21s against Middlesbrough.
But although Rovers lost the game at Leigh Sports Village 2-0, the sight of Robinson wearing the gloves once more was a welcome one.
"He's been out a long time," Kinder told Rovers Player. "I've got a great relationship with Paul, we've spent a lot of time at the club talking about different things and it's great to see him back because he's a proper professional.
"He went in the dressing rooms at half time and probably did my job for me, digging a few people out and they needed it, he was exactly right with what he said.
"It is great to have him back, he's been a good professional over a good number of years and lets hope that he has a few more years left in him.
"He's still a lot of work to do and he knows that, but it is good for the club and it is good for him to see him back between the goals."
Rovers Player subscribers will be able to see an exclusive interview with Robinson later.
