GB: Show heart and fight

6 December 2013

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has called on his squad to show what they are capable of against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Rovers travel south for the second time this week to take on Harry Redknapp's promotion chasers, looking to quickly erase the memory of Tuesday night's disappointing loss to Ipswich Town.

Bowyer's side have a decent record against top six sides this campaign, and he feels there is no reason why they can't go to west London and cause an upset.

"We've beaten Watford at home, we've beaten Leeds at home, we've drawn with Reading, Burnley, Blackpool, Derby, all sides that have been in the top six," said the Rovers boss.

"So we are more than capable of going there and putting a performance on and winning the game. That is the challenge for us and one that I am certainly relishing.

"They've got a Premiership manager, they've got Premiership players and they've got a Premiership budget.

"So it is a chance for us to go down there and see what we are made of and see who has got some heart and who has got some fight because that is what we are demanding."

Queens Park Rangers have lost just two matches this season, both of them on their travels, and despite a home record of eight wins and one draw, Bowyer believes Rovers can return north triumphant.

Bowyer added: "I don't think QPR are going to go all season unbeaten at home so why shouldn't it be us that goes and inflicts that first home defeat?

"That is the message that we've said to the players, we need a reaction and a response from Tuesday's second half performance. The first half we weren't bad at all, the second we were not acceptable."

Supporters who haven't yet purchased their tickets for Saturday's away match at Queens Park Rangers can now do so on the day of the game, cash only from the Loftus Road turnstiles.

Some 750 of the 1000 ticket allocation has so far been sold, with all the silver priced tickets being snapped up expect for the family area.

Ticket prices are £30.00 Adults, £20.00 Seniors (over 60), £20.00 Young Adult 16-21 (Proof of Age Required), £15.00 Under 16. Under-8s go free with an Adult ticket in the family area.
