Nichol Forster scored twice, as Rovers Ladies secured a second successive victory over Sporting Club Albion.
Rovers followed up last weekend’s 1-0 home triumph in the Northern Division with a 3-1 away win in the Premier League Cup.
After an even opening, in which both sides struggled to find their feet, Rovers registered the first opportunity, but Rio Hardy was denied by a last-ditch challenge inside the box.
As the game opened up, Rovers made the breakthrough just past the half-hour mark. Danni Young played a through ball to Nichol Forster, who slotted past the keeper.
The visitors made a change at the break, as Lindsay Savage came on for her debut in place of Vicky Westerman, but it was Albion who started the second half strongly, putting Rovers under pressure and grabbing the equaliser from a corner.
Rovers responded well and soon started to take control. Rio Hardy was played in one-on-one with the keeper and coolly picked out the bottom left-hand corner.
The visitors continued to press, playing some well-worked football down the flanks, with the full-backs getting forward.
Good play down the left by Steph Marsh ended with Young heading against the bar from close range. Rovers’ third eventually arrived when a corner was only cleared as far as Nichol Forster on the edge of the box and the striker fired home her second of the game into the roof of the net.
Assistant manager Amanda Goodwin said: “The transformation of the team, from where we were to where we are now, is great to see.
“There is a real belief and determination amongst the players, who are prepared to work hard and trust each other out on the pitch. They took the game to Albion and thoroughly deserved the victory.
“It was a team effort, everyone put a shift in. Myself, Gemma and the resting of the coaching staff are delighted with how the girls are doing. Onwards and upwards.”
