A squad of options

2 December 2013

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has plenty of decisions to make ahead of Tuesday night's game with Ipswich Town.

The club make the long journey to Suffolk in good heart off the back of Saturday's win over Leeds United, and boosted by having Rudy Gestede and Lee Williamson available for selection.

The pair missed the Ewood 1-0 victory, but bother are expected to be pushing for a start against Mick McCarthy's side.

"Rudy just missed out at the weekend but he will be in the squad for Tuesday," revealed Bowyer on Monday.

"We were sensible with him, he's had a good three days training now and he's loads better for that. It gives us some options up front which we've not had for a while so that's good.

"Willo came in yesterday, he was ill overnight ahead of the Saturday, it was a bad migraine, but he's recovered from that.

"We'll see how he is and we hope he's available because he's an important member of the squad."

Another player pressing his claims for a start is DJ Campbell. The striker had a hugely successful loan spell with Ipswich in the first half of last season, scoring 10 goals in 17 outings, and after returning from a three-match ban at the weekend he could also come into contention.

"We got DJ Campbell back and he came on and I thought he looked very sharp," added Bowyer.

"He had a great spell there last season on loan so he'll be eager to go and show the Ipswich fans how good he was."

Paul Robinson is making good progress after returning to full training, whilst Corry Evans and Dickson Etuhu remain sidelined with ankle injuries.

Rovers supporters have until 12 noon Tuesday to get their tickets for the away match at Ipswich Town at a reduced rate.

Fans are advised to obtain their tickets in advance of the game, as although tickets will be on sale at Portman Road this Tuesday, prices increase on the night.

The tricky midweek trip to Suffolk has seen some 200 tickets sold so far for the Sky Bet Championship match.

Tickets will go off sale at the Roverstore in Blackburn Town Centre at 5.30pm this Monday, and at 12 noon Tuesday at Ewood Park.

Advanced ticket prices are £26.00 Adults, £19.00 Seniors over 60 / Students with valid NUS Card / Under 20s and £10.50 Under 16’s.
