Todd misses out

14 August 2013

Todd Kane missed out on the chance to represent England as the Under-21s thrashed Scotland 6-0 at Bramall Lane on Tuesday evening.

The loan defender was an unused substitute as Roy Hodgson's side scored six of the best against the Scots.

First half goals from Nathan Redmond and Raheem Stirling set England on their way, before a 13 minute second half blitz saw Connor Wickham, Ross Barkley, Jonjo Shelvey and Tom Carroll all find the net.

Kane will be all the better for the experience of linking up with England and training with the senior squad, he'll be hoping to be included when the European U21 qualifiers come round in September.
