Gary Bowyer was delighted to be able to send the supporters home happy after Rovers' first win of the season.
Seven goals were served up on a pulsating afternoon of football at Ewood Park, with Rovers full value for their 5-2 victory over Barnsley.
Speaking to Radio Rovers after the game the manager was pleased with the support he and the players received but insists that the side are very much a work in progress.
"I hope the fans enjoyed that," said the manager.
"We are working very hard and we are trying to bring in one or two that will add to that team.
"It is going to be a long process, it is going to take time this season and we'll just go game by game.
"I'm glad that they've gone home with a smile on their face today."
Rovers are back in action at Ewood Park against Bolton Wanderers next Saturday with tickets on open sale priced from £19 Adults, £12 Seniors and £7 Juniors.
