Alan Judge was delighted to have finally made his long-awaited league debut for Rovers.
The midfielder, who returned to the club in the summer after a three-year spell at Notts County, never made a league appearance during his first spell with Rovers, so the Irishman was relieved to have finally got that out of the way.
"I'm happy that it is out of the way," admitted the 24-year-old. "I was thinking about it all night, the first thing you want to do when you come back is play well, to show why you've been brought back.
"So hopefully I've shown that I can add something to the team and I'm just delighted to have played for the club now.
"I want to get in the team and play as much as I can, set my own standards and if I can chip in with a few goals and get a few assists that is mostly my aim.
"I just want to get as many games as I can and contribute to the team."
The Irishman put in an all-action display and felt that Rovers deserved more than their point on the opening day at Pride Park, Leon Best's 89th minute equaliser ensuring a 1-1 draw against Derby County.
"I thought we were very good, especially in the first half where we dominated them," added Judge.
"They had one chance, they got the goal from a free-kick that was never a free-kick as I've nicked the ball away from the player, but you get those given against you.
"We had three good chances in the first half and in the second half we've hit the post.
"I think they were a bit leggy in the second half and our fitness overpowered them but I think we didn't get what we deserved like the manager said. We should have won 3-1.
"We created chances, we played well, we mixed it up and hopefully the fans went away happy."
