Former Doncaster defender Tommy Spurr is relishing his Rovers return to the Keepmoat Stadium this evening.
The full back spent two successful seasons with Doncaster Rovers before making the move across the Pennines to Ewood Park.
Now as the two sides meet in the league for the first time in 55 years, Spurr can't wait to play against his former team-mates.
"It is something that I am really looking forward to, the lads there were great and I can't wait to play against them," said Spurr.
"Hopefully I'll get a good reception, I'd like to think I did well there, we had a successful season last year."
The defender knows that it won't be easy against a Paul Dickov side still on a high from last season's dramatic last day promotion.
Doncaster clinched the League One crown with an injury-time winner at Brentford, gaining promotion as champions.
"It'll be tougher than probably people might think, Donny are a good side and they've got a lot of good players," added the 25-year-old.
"They are hard-working and there is a lot of togetherness in the team. It will be harder perhaps than some of the places that we'll go to this year.
"There is obviously still a feel good factor about the place and they'll still be buzzing that they are playing the the likes of Blackburn Rovers at the Keepmoat.
"But it isn't about them it is all about us and if we play with as much enthusiasm and hard work then our quality will show through. There is a lot of quality in the squad."
Rovers have had a steady start with a draw at Derby County and a last-gasp home defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest last time out, but Spurr is confidence that they'll soon hit their stride.
"There are quite a few new players and it is a young side, I'm 25 and I was the third oldest out of the lads that played on Saturday," said Spurr.
"So it is very much a work in progress but I think the more games we play together the more successful we'll be."
