Edwards extends Spireites stay

25 August 2013

Highly-rated Rovers defender Ryan Edwards will remain with Chesterfield for a further two months.

Signed initially on a month-long deal, the 19-year-old centre-back has featured in four of the Spireites games so far this season, prompted manager Paul Cook to quickly extend his stay at the Proact Stadium.

The 19-year-old centre-back, who captained Rovers' Under-18s to the final of the FA Youth Cup two seasons ago and spent last season on loan at fellow League Two clubs Rochdale and Fleetwood, will remain with Chesterfield on loan until the 26th October.
