Bowyer can't wait

4 August 2013

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is relieved that the pre-season preparations are now over and that the serious business of the Sky Bet Championship can get underway.

The Lancashire club start their 2013-14 campaign away at Pride Park, the home of Derby County this Sunday at 4pm, with the manager exited for the coming season.

"I'm getting more and more excited," Bowyer told Rovers Player.

"Unfortunately for me I finished playing a long time ago so that first day of the season is something that I've missed.

"I know you get it with the youth team and the reserves but this is different, this is the first team and I'm getting more excited.

"I'm gutted we are playing on Sunday because I've got to wait an extra day.

"The players are chomping at the bit because they think the running has finished but it has not, we'll be doing running sessions throughout the season.

"But seriously, the players can't wait, training has gone up another level this week and the start of the season is now upon us."

Tickets for the match will be on sale at Pride Park from 2pm at the away ticket office. Prices are £29 Adults, £19.50 for Seniors and £14.50 for Under-18s.
