Manager Gary Bowyer is keen for Rovers to get the points their play deserves with a first win of the season on Saturday.
After three games in the league Rovers still await their first victory, but Bowyer believes the weekend match against Barnsley, gives the club the perfect chance to do so.
"It is a great opportunity for us in front of our own fans," said the Rovers boss.
"It presents itself with a great chance to get points on theboard and get that first win.
"The fact that if we can get the win against Barnsley then it sets us up nicely for the local derby with Bolton."
The Rovers boss feels that the side have been performing well, but they need to start turning possession and chances into goals and points.
"In terms of performance-wise last Friday away at Doncaster we had 61% of the possession, but we know that it isn't all about possession it is about converting those chances and that is what we'll be looking to do," added Bowyer.
"We've talked about being a bit more ruthless, a bit more aggressive with the ball, creating more chances and being able to convert them.
"But at the same time we've got to make sure that we keep them out at our end.
"In terms of how we are going about playing the game and how quickly the team have bought into it has been great, but we aren't daft enough to think that it is all about that, it is all about getting points on the board.
"We have to make sure that we keep doing the right things."
