Kane deal extended

16 April 2013

Todd Kane will remain with Rovers until the end of the season after the club agreed an extension to his youth loan with Chelsea.

The 19-year-old full-back, who is enjoying a second spell with Rovers this season, had been due to return to Stamford Bridge after tonight’s game with Huddersfield Town.

However, after some hugely impressive defensive displays, manager Gary Bowyer was keen to secure his services for the remaining four Championship fixtures.

"We are delighted, he has been magnificent for us," said Bowyer.

"The first time we brought him in you only had to see his debut at Wolves live on Sky, he took to it like he'd been with us all season.

"The level of his performances for a 19-year-old, in this fight that we are in, I can't praise him enough, he's a top lad.

"He brings a smile to people's faces and he's got a positivity about him that just spreads through the team.

"He's the type of player that this football club needs."

See Kane and the rest of the Rovers squad in action this evening against Huddersfield Town.

Tickets will be on sale right up until the 7.45pm kick-off priced from £19 for Adults, £12 Seniors and £7 for Juniors Under 16.
