Gary Bowyer has stressed the importance of picking up points in every game that Rovers have between now and the end of the season.
The club have picked up just three points from their last eight league games in a run of results that has seen the side slip down the table.
With seven games remaining, Rovers need every point they can get, starting with Saturday's trip to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday.
"I think it is important that every game that we go in we are picking up points," said the Rovers boss.
"Ideally it is three points that we get, but if we can draw away from home, or even at home some times, the main aim is to pick up points.
"We need to defend from the front as a team, everybody has to put a shift in defensively and then we've got to be a little bit better in front of goal to score the goals to win the games."
Bowyer believes that with the way results have gone this season it is impossible to predict a points target that would ensure safety.
"I don't think you can set a target on it this year, it really is that mad," added Bowyer.
"It is going to go game by game. We can't get excited if we pick up a couple of wins because it is going to go right to the wire.
"They are all going to be massive games from now until the end of the season. We are fully aware of that.
"We need to remain calm and positive and keep going until it is mathematically impossible for us to go down."
