Rovers boss Gary Bowyer couldn't speak highly enough about the performance of defender Gael Givet against Huddersfield Town at Ewood on Tuesday.
The former French international returned to the starting eleven for the first time since the middle of December to put in a commanding display alongside captain Scott Dann at the heart of the Rovers defence.
Jordan Rhodes put the home side in front after 37 minutes but Rovers couldn't grab that all-important second goal, but the defenders, and Givet in particular, were where they needed to be when it counted to ensure a second clean sheet, and a second win in successive games.
"He was awesome, absolutely awesome, it was a phenomenal performance," said the Rovers manager.
"He's a warrior of the highest order. I can't thank him enough, massive respect to him for that level of performance.
"I think it inspired everybody else. His experience proved invaluable.
"The crowd appreciated him and I think that went both ways.
"The club is blessed with three outstanding centre halves in Grant Hanley, Scott Dann and Gael Givet and Gael has shown his worth there."
