A challenge to relish

1 April 2013

Gary Bowyer believes his side can take on Cardiff City full of confidence.

Rovers face the league laters later this Bank Holiday Monday, looking to make it an unbeaten Easter programme.

"I think it is a great game for us," said the Rovers boss. "We'll be going there loving the challenge.

"They are top of the league and a good side but we can take confidence from how we performed against Blackpool and hopefully we'll get the rub of the green down there and who knows?

"It is another game for us to go and try and compete and gain points and that is what we'll be looking to do first and foremost."

Rovers were full value for their point against Blackpool at Ewood on Friday, with Bowyer knowing that continuing to pick up points is huge in the end of season run-in.

"It is all about collecting points at this stage of the season and we managed to do that against Blackpool, albeit the one," added Bowyer.

"It doesn't matter how we get them or where we get them it is about getting points on the board and making sure that we are in this league this season.

"If the players show the same application, work-rate and desire to pass the ball then I'm sure the points will come."

Rovers Player will be providing full uninterrupted match coverage from 2.45pm.
