Midfielder sees action as Ireland draw 1-1 with Latvia.
Darragh Lenihan made his debut for the Republic of Ireland's Under-19s on Saturday afternoon.
The young midfielder had previously represented his country up to the Under-17 stage and didn't he disappoint with an eventful display for the Under-19s in their international friendly in Latvia.
The Irishman was in the thick of the action straight from the off and was unfortunate to see his 30 yard strike cannon off the post after just two minutes.
Despite the bright start from Ireland it was the hosts Latvia who took the lead in the 38th minute when a free-kick into the box was headed past his own 'keeper by Shane Griffin.
Ireland responded immediately, levelling straight away as Michael Drennen headed home Conor Wilkinson's centre.
The second half didn't see any further goals but it wasn't for the lack of trying from the Irish. Again Lenihan was involved on more than one occasion but he twice headed over when well placed.
After his impressive debut, Lenihan will hope to have done enough to be part of Paul Doolin's squad when the squad is selected for the UEFA Under-19 qualifiers take place next month.
