Three on duty

12 October 2012

Tim Payne, Martin Olsson and Jason Lowe will be hoping for a taste of international duty this Friday.

Kicking off the World Cup qualifiers today is young forward Tim Payne who is with the New Zealand squad for their two matches against Tahiti.

The first game takes place in Papeete, with the return tie for the All Whites on Tuesday in Christchurch.

Closer to home Martin Olsson will be looking to add to his 12 caps when Sweden take on the Faroe Islands in Torshavn.

The Swedes started their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Kazakhstan last month so they'll be hoping to maintain that 100% start against the Faroese before they face Germany in Berlin on Tuesday night.

At Under-21 level Jason Lowe is with the England squad for their UEFA Under-21 play-off matches against Serbia.

The first leg takes place this Friday at Carrow Road, with a return tie in Krusevac next Tuesday.

Thursday saw Jamie Maclaren involved as Australia's Under-20 squad played a friendly match against Portugal. The match ended 2-1 in favour of the hosts.
