Black happy with the defensive display shown against Forest, now is the time to score the goals against Wolves.
Whilst Eric Black was delighted that Rovers kept their second clean sheet of the season away at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, he admits that it he needs to get the right balance between defence and attack.
Rovers operated a 3-5-2 formation with Grant Hanley, Scott Dann and Gael Givet operating at the back, but whilst that worked to keep chances for Forest to a minimum, it came at a cost to Rovers' forward play.
"I was trying to get a balance," said Black of the game against Forest.
"We played in a manner to try and score goals but we just felt as a group that we were more open to conceding than we really should be and it was my responsibility to try and find a solution to that.
"We found it a little bit against Forest but whether that will continue remains to be seen.
"It wasn't a major priority but we had conceded too many goals, we had to try and do something that the players felt comfortable with and considering they only had an hour on the training field I thought they did fine."
Rovers remain unbeaten on their travels but next up is Wolverhampton Wanderers at home with Black knowing the importance of a strong home showing.
"We have to try and build a structure that ensures that we don't lose many games and that we can win more games than we lose because we need to win a minimum of 26-27 games," added the interim manager.
"You can't do that just solely on a defensive base so we have to find a balance. We need to be more offensive at home there is no question about that.
"I don't have a problem with that and I'm happy to accept whatever criticism people feel coming to an away ground and getting a point is.
"But I think we have to try and score more goals at home whilst with those defensive qualities."
