O'Connell makes Millers move

22 November 2012

Central defender signs on loan with League Two club.

Promising defender Jack O'Connell is the latest Rovers player to go out on loan.

The 18-year-old centre-half has joined League Two side Rotherham United on a youth loan until January 5th.

A strong commanding centre-half, Jack went on to make 35 appearances for the Academy and Reserves in an outstanding first year that saw him play a key role as Rovers reach the final of both the FA Youth Cup and the Academy League.

Those impressive displays have seen him also earn international recognition having represented England's Under-18s and Under-19s this season.

Captain for the Reserve team, Jack has signed in time to be in Steve Evan's squad for their away match against Exeter City.

As one Rover arrives at the New York Stadium another departs as an injury sustained by Josh Morris in Rotherham's 3-2 loss to Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday has forced an early end to his loan deal.
