Ladies start season away to Wolves

Rovers Ladies face newly-promoted opposition on the opening day of the new season.

Blackburn Rovers Ladies will kick off the 2012-13 FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division season away to newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves, who lifted the Midland Women’s Combination League title last season, will welcome Scott Rogers’ side to Goodrich Sports Ground on Sunday August 19th.
Rovers, who finished fourth in the Northern Division last term, play their first home game the following Sunday, when Leicester City are the visitors to Stainton Park.
The League Cup group stages get underway on Sunday September 2nd, before Rovers will renew their rivalry with Preston North End on September 9th.
A Christmas break is scheduled after a trip to Nottingham Forest on Sunday December 16th, before Rovers return to action in the second round of the FA Women’s Cup on Sunday January 6th.
Rogers’ talented young team will hope to be celebrating promotion back to the Premier League’s top tier at their final day fixture away to Sporting Club Albion on Sunday February 17th.
