Rovers Ladies were in seventh heaven after going goal crazy against Curzon Ashton to make it two wins out of two in pre-season.
Scott Rogers’ side completely dominated from start to finish and took their goals tally to 13 so far this summer.
Rovers moved the ball around at a high tempo, which caused Curzon countless problems. Some slick passing led to the opening goal, which was a stunning long-range strike from Kim Turner over the Curzon keeper.
Keeleigh Savage fired just wide straight from the restart, whilst a Beth Donoghue cut-back was cleared and a strike from Katie Anderton was off target, as Rovers looked to double their lead.
Rovers did grab a second when Anderton carried the ball into the box and finished well, then just before the break, Savage struck a shot past the keeper for 3-0.
The trend continued in the second half, with Rovers dictating the play. Chance after chance was created, before Donoghue got on the scoresheet with a neat finish.
With youngsters Emily Farrell and Emma Moorhouse controlling the midfield battle, Rovers remained on top. Anderton got her second of the game midway through the half with some clever football leading to a one-on-one. Savage then grabbed her second with a scuffed finish at the far post.
Nichol Forster completed the scoring with a close-range finish from a cross, shortly before coming off.
Rogers said: “This wasn't the game we had originally scheduled, but it was great of Curzon to help us out.
“We dominated the game and there was only ever going to be one outcome. But in pre-season, it's about minutes and we were pleased with how the girls performed.
“I must single out Emily Farrell and Emma Moorhouse, who were both fantastic for us and showed very mature performances.
“I was pleased to have scored seven goals, as this is great confidence boost for the team and my forwards ahead of the new season.”
Rovers: Grice, Newton, Bennett, Oates, Pennington, Farrell, Turner (Moorhouse 25), Anderton, Savage, N. Forster (Noori 75), Donoghue (Bland 65).
