Jordan Rhodes cannot wait to savour his first taste of an East Lancashire derby this Sunday.
The Rovers striker goes into the match at Turf Moor in superb form after netting his tenth goal of the season in blue and white in midweek.
The 22-year-old readily admits he didn't realise how big the clash was between the two sides but is excited by the prospect of playing.
“It’s all going to be relatively new to me, so I’m looking forward to the occasion," said the club's top scorer.
“I knew of the rivalry, but didn’t know the intensity of it. The last few weeks, it’s been on countdown and it’s been on everyone’s lips.
“I’m looking forward to the game – not just as a player, but as a Blackburn fan. I’ll do the best I can, we’ll do the best we can and hopefully come away with a positive result.
“It’s fantastic. It’s what the fans look forward to and more importantly than anything else, we’ve just got to treat it like a game of football and not get carried away with the situation. And play with our heads rather than with our hearts.”
Rovers have sold out their ticket allocation for this game, whilst the beam-back at Ewood Park has also sold out.
