Henning's Ewood hopes

7 December 2012

Boss Berg wants to reward the supporters with his first home win.

Ahead of Friday night's clash with Cardiff City, Henning Berg has paid tribute to the Rovers supporters.

The new Rovers boss has been delighted with the backing that he and the players have received since taking over and would like nothing better than to reward them with a win over the league leaders at Ewood Park this evening.

"The fans have been brilliant since I came," Berg told Rovers Player. "They've supported the team, they've had the passion, they want the team to be the best it can be.

"Of course when you don't win, especially at home, people are going to be a bit frustrated, that is normal, but the way they've got behind the team in the early part of those games and also the Burnley game was fantastic.

"I hope that they can see that the players are trying their very best, that they are doing everything they can do to win games."

Berg has yet to taste victory on home soil since taking charge, so a win this evening against the Bluebirds would be very much appreciated.

"We are looking to improve the team, we are looking to win matches, that is our main job," added Berg.

"It is always important to win games, it doesn't matter if it is home or away.

"But if you look at statistics, to give yourselves a chance to be promoted you need to win much more of your home games than we have done lately and of course that is our aim.

"We are still looking at the players, assessing the squad, looking at how we should do things to get the most out of the team and the players individually and I think we are getting closer."

Tickets for Friday's 7.45pm match will be on open sale up until kick-off with prices starting from £15 for Adults, £10 for OAPs and £5 for Juniors. Book online at and collect your ticket from the Blackburn End collection point.
