No old pals act

28 August 2012

First team coach Iain Brunskill will come up against a friendly face when Rovers take on MK Dons this Tuesday night.

After three successive league games it is turn of the Capital One Cup with Rovers in second round action against against the League One side at stadium:MK.

MK Dons are managed by former Rovers coach Karl Robinson, a person Brunskill has known since they were both learning their trade together at Liverpool.

"I speak to Karl regularly, we started together as young coaches at Liverpool many years ago and after being at Blackburn he has progressed and done ever so well," Brunskill told Radio Rovers.

"I can't really give him enough credit really, he has consistently done well with them over the past two seasons. He got to the play-offs two years on the run and it won't be an easy game because they are pushing for promotion again.

"With him being a friend of mine I've watched them closely and they play good football so it will certainly be a difficult game."

Kick-off at stadium:MK is at 7.45pm, Rovers Player subscribers will be able to listen to full uninterrupted commentary of the game.
