Rovers earned a valuable point against Swansea City on Saturday morning as Dan Butterworth's goal late on earned a share of the spoils.
Rovers included Under-18 man Jalil Saadi in the squad, whilst new signing Mitchel Candlin and Brad Lyons earned first starts for Damien Johnson's side.
Matty Platt was also named in the XI, with the defender playing to boost game time for the weekend.
The home side included the experienced Luciano Narsingh in their team, whilst Cian Harries - who was handed his professional debut at Coventry City under Tony Mowbray - captained the Welsh side.
In a first half which lacked chances, Rovers created the better opportunities with John Buckley forcing a save out of goalkeeper Steven Benda whilst Butterworth shot just wide.
Despite having the better of the play, it was the Swans that opened the scoring with half time edging closer.
After Rovers failed to deal with a corner, Brandon Cooper ghosted in to head home Liam Cullen’s cross.
Rovers produced a good response in the second half, with Okera Simmonds and Willem Tomlinson both coming close to netting an equaliser.
But that deserved goal did finally come when Butterworth’s powerful long-range strike was well out of Benda’s reach and nestled into the corner to earn a point apiece.
