It's not five games without a win for Rovers Under-18s following their narrow defeat away at Stoke City on Friday night.
Home frontman Ryanjay Malbon fired the Potters into an early lead with a crisp strike that flew into the top corner after only four minutes.
Chances came and went at both ends, with Zak Gilsenan hitting wide when well placed before Ben Pleavin smashed over the upright.
At the other end, Stoke twice went close to adding to their tally, with Felix Goddard grateful for his upright on both occasions as City twice hit the woodwork.
Rovers hit the bar themselves soon after the research before a super volley from Pleavin equalised for Rovers.
It looked as if Rovers would build from there, but, after Stoke hit the woodwork for a third time, the hoest won it late on when Sam Knowles thumped home from just inside the area with only five minutes remaining.
Next up for Mike Sheron's side is a home test against Manchester City Under-18s on Saturday 19th December, kick-off 11am.
Rovers: Goddard, Haddow, Gamble, Garrett, Cirino, Harlock, Pleavin (Chmiel, 86), Wood, Gent (Biniek, 61), Wharton (Weston, 84), Gilsenan.
Unused substitutes: Blease, Pratt.
