Three goals inside the opening 19 minutes did the damage as Rovers U18s suffered defeat to Manchester United's U18s at the Aon Training Complex.
Anthony Elanga struck either side of Dillan Hoogewerf's finish, before Sam Burns continued his form in front of goal with a late consolation against The Red Devils.
Elanga gave the hosts the lead on seven minutes, as he produced a cool finish to curl beyond the reach of Jordan Eastham and into the net to hand United the early advantage.
The midfielder was impressive throughout the game, and it was the Swede who produced the next goal, this time setting up Dutchman Hoogewerf to tap home from close range 10 minutes after the opener.
Neil Ryan's youngsters pretty much killed off any chance of a fightback from Mike Sheron's side just two minutes later as Elanga grabbed his second and United's third of the day.
The flying winger produced a darting run in from the left, beating Isaac Whitehall and George Wyatt before slotting past Eastham from an acute angle.
Rovers looked for a route back into the game after the break, but it was the hosts who came closest to adding to their lead, with Charlie Wellens being denied by Eastham on two occasions.
Burns made it two goals in as many matches as he tucked home with just six minutes remaining, but his strike was to be in vain as Rovers were downed.
Sheron and his charges will be aiming to get back on track on Saturday when his side take on Stoke City Under-18s at the Rovers Academy, kick-off 11am.
