Everton Under-18s striker Ellis Simms bagged four goals as the Toffees sunk Rovers Under-18s at Brockhall Village.
Simms got the ball rolling for the Merseysiders just four minutes as he raced through on goal before placing the ball beyond the despairing dive of Ben Winterbottom
Rovers responded well though and had the chance to equalise on 21 minutes from the spot. Up stepped Kyle Connell, who failed to find the back of the net from 12 yards.
And just two minutes later the hosts were punished. A poor pass out from the back from Winterbottom only fell as far as Mackenzie Hunt curled home low to make it 2-0 midway through the half.
The second half started quietly before Simms added his second and Everton's third with 18 minutes remaining, slipping the ball past Winterbottom after a strong run.
With four minutes remaining the striker completed his hat-trick, finishing off a flowing Toffees move before being fed by substitute Korede Adedoyin to fire home from close range.
And a moment later it was Adedoyin who got on the scoresheet; lashing home after a lovely through ball by Rob Carroll.
The scoring was complete by star man Simms with a minute of action remaining as more intricate play saw the striker finish off a flowing move by tapping home from a couple of yards out.
