A hat-trick from visiting forward Felix Nmecha saw Rovers U18s well beaten at Brockhall Village against high-flying Manchester City U18s
Nmecha struck 17 minutes into the game to get the ball rolling for City, who are managed by Rovers legend Jason Wilcox.
Keyendrah Simmonds - brother of Rovers Under-23s forward Okera - added to the tally 10 minutes before the break when he bagged a penalty to put the visitors in command.
A youthful Rovers side, who included young talents Liam Collins and Tyrone Ofori in the XI, held firm at the start of the second half but the pressure became too much as the hosts conceded three goals in the final 10 minutes.
Nmecha grabbed a second with time running out before substitute Nabil Touaizi, who came on for D'Margio Wright-Phillips - son of ex-City, Chelsea and England winger Shaun - scored a third with four minutes remaining.
And in the dying embers of the game, Nmecha completed his hat-trick in emphatic style by scoring a penalty four minutes into injury time.
Rovers are next in action on Saturday 14th April against Everton. Kick-off at Finch Farm is at 11am.
