Rovers swooped to sign exciting striker Rubén Rochina from Barcelona during the January 2011 transfer window.
The forward arrived at Ewood for an undisclosed fee on a contract which will run through until the summer of 2015.
Valencia born, Rochina had been with the Catalan giants since an early age and was a regular member of Barcelona's B team.
His first goals in English football came in August 2011 when he scored a brace in a 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday in the Carling Cup, his sensational strike at Fulham saw him win the Goal of the Season competition that year.
January 2013 saw the Spaniard return to his homeland for a loan spell with Real Zaragoza, but whilst he returned to Rovers for the start of the 2013-14 campaign he was sidelined by a serious shoulder injury in the opening Championship game against Derby County.
Unable to make an impact on his return from injury in December, Rochina joined Spanish side Rayo Vallecano on loan in January for the remainder of the campaign, scoring three times in 17 appearances.
