Goalkeeper Kean joined the Rovers Academy after a successful trial following his release from Derby County at the end of the 2008/09 season. The tall shot stopper soon progressed from the Under-18s to the Reserves before enjoying loan spells with Hartlepool United and Rochdale.
After making his Rovers debut on the final day of the 2011-12 season against Chelsea, the following campaign saw Kean make the goalkeeping position his own following an injury to Paul Robinson, making 24 appearances before a knee injury cut short his season in April 2013.
2013-14 saw Kean start the season as Gary Bowyer's first choice stopper, playing 18 times as Rovers just missed out on a top six finish.
After appearing in the Capital One Cup for Rovers this season, Kean spent a month on loan at League One side Yeovil Town in September. January 2015 saw the keeper join Oldham Athletic on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
