Rovers swooped during the January 2011 transfer window to land exciting young Barcelona striker Rubén Rochina.
The forward arrived at Ewood for an undisclosed fee on a contract which will run through until the summer of 2015.
Valencia born, Rochina had been with the Catalan giants since an early age and was a regular member of Barcelona's B team which plays in the Spanish second division for the last couple of seasons.
He also has honours for his country up to under 19 level, and was part of the Spanish under 19 squad that reached the final of the UEFA Under 19 championships in France 2010.
His first goals in English football came in August 2011 when he scored a brace in a 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday in the Carling Cup, and his sensational strike at Fulham saw him win the Goal of the Season competition.
January 2013 saw the Spaniard return to his homeland for a loan spell with Real Zaragoza.
