This big strong competitive centre half has come through the ranks at Rovers, from the Academy to the Reserves and onto the first team.

The final day of the 09/10 season saw former manager Sam Allardyce give Grant his Barclays Premier League debut, putting in an impressive display at the back as Rovers defeated Aston Villa at Villa Park 1-0.

During that summer Grant signed a new five-year-deal that sees him contracted to the Ewood Park club until the summer of 2015.

He would go onto make nine appearances for the first team in the 2010-11 season, that saw him included in Craig Levein's Scotland squad, Hanley making his debut in the Carling Nations Trophy in May 2011.

Hanley's first senior goal for the club was certainly a special one. Scoring the winner as Rovers defeated Manchester United on New Years Eve 2011.
