Rovers added more goalkeeping experience to their ranks with the capture of Jason Steele from Middlesbrough in December 2014.

The stopper made the move from the north east to the north west, initially on a season-long loan, but it was made into a permanent deal ahead of the January 2015 transfer window, putting pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half year deal with the Ewood Park club.

Having come through the ranks at the Teesside club, Steele enjoyed a spell on loan at Northampton Town before returning to make the number one place at Boro his own, making over 140 appearances in a four-year spell before Rovers came calling.

The keeper also has honours for England up to Under-21 level, and was a member of Team GB's Olympic squad at London 2012.
