Dickson arrived from Fulham in the summer of 2012, signing a four-year-deal for a fee of £1.5m.
A strong combative midfielder, he started his footballing carrer with Manchester City before joining Preston North End in 2002, where he would go on to play almost 150 games.
He joined Norwich City in January 2006 after an initial loan spell, before switching to Premier League side Sunderland in June 2007.
After just one season at the Stadium of Light, he made the move down to Fulham, where he made 127 appearances, including a starting role in the 2010 Europa League final.
Unfortunately his first full season with Rovers was disrupted due to injury, the midfielder requiring two knee operations which limited his chances.
It is hoped that the Nigerian will return to action this autumn.
