Having joined Rovers from Barcelona-based club UE Cornella in the summer of 2012, the popular goalkeeper has quickly progressed from the Academy and the Under-21s to become a member of the first team squad.

After a strong start to the 2014-15 season, September saw the keeper gain senior experience with a month-long loan deal with Conference side Southport. The Spaniard immediately impressed at Haig Avenue with his loan spell extended to the first week of January 2015

Raya's final game for the Sandgrounders was a memorable one as he pulled off a string of fine saves as Southport performed superbly in a 1-0 FA Cup third round away loss to Championship side Derby County.

The beginning of April then saw Raya make his first senior start in a Rovers shirt. Marking it with a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Leeds United at Elland Road, before making his Ewood Park debut in the final game of the 2014-15 campaign in a 3-2 win for Rovers over Ipswich Town.
