This Northern Ireland international joined Rovers from Hull City in the summer of 2013, signing a three-year-deal for an undisclosed fee.

A combative and versatile central midfielder, Evans impressed in his first season with the Lancashire club despite an ankle ligament injury picked up on duty for his country ruling him out for five months.

The Irishman started his career with Manchester United before joining Hull City on loan in January 2011, the move was made into a permanent one that July.

A regular for Steve Bruce's side as Hull gained promotion back to the Premier League in 2012-13, however a lack of first team opportunities allowed Rovers to swoop for his services.
