The Northern Ireland international joined Rovers from Hull City in the summer of 2013, signing a three-year-deal for an undisclosed fee.

A combative and versatile central midfielder, he started his career with Manchester United before joining Hull City on loan in January 2011, the move was made into a permanent one that July.

A regular for Steve Bruce's side as Hull gained promotion back to the Premier League in 2012-13, however a lack of first team opportunities allowed Rovers to swoop for his services.

Despite an ankle ligament injury picked up on duty for his country ruling him out for five months in his first season at Ewood Park, the Northern Irishman has been a consistant performer for both club and country.

A strong start to the 2015-16 saw Evans rewarded with a new three-and-a-half year deal to keep him at Ewood Park until the summer of 2019.
