The 6' 3" frontman joined Rovers on a free transfer from Doncaster in the summer of 2014, putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal.
Brown started out at Sunderland, but spent his first season on loan at Doncaster, where he scored 10 goals as they were crowned Third Division champions in 2003-04.
He returned to help Sunderland gain promotion to the Premier League the following season and then again in 2007.
Having spent a year with Norwich City, Brown then joined Preston North End in January 2008 - where he netted 18 goals - ahead of a return move to Doncaster in 2011.
He scored eight goals as Doncaster were promoted to the Championship as League One champions in 2012-13 before wining their Player of the Year award the following season after scoring on nine occasions.
Unfortunately for the striker his first season with Rovers saw him struggle with a knee injury which meant he didn't make his debut until the end of November 2014. Whilst the form of fellow strikers Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede restricted his opportunities in the second half of the season.
